Board of Directors

DIANNA STALLONE, Chair, has been the Safe Haven Project legal counsel since 2007. She is an expert in the area of health-care law and has served as a Civil Rights Commissioner and Board Member of the Lawyer’s International Human Rights Committee. Dianna is dedicated to social justice causes and continues to advocate for the protection of our citizens constitutional rights. Dianna resides in Florence, MA and is the proud mother of a daughter, Brianna, who is a freshman at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA.

MICHELLE MOORE, Secretary, comes to Safe Haven with a long volunteer history with the organization. As a former high school student of CEO Dave Butler, Michelle comes with a trusted relationship and understanding of the mission of Safe Haven. Michelle has served as a volunteer for Camp Safe Haven Martha’s Vineyard, Camp Safe Haven Hubbardston, MA, and Camp Safe Haven New Hampshire in the 1990′s. Michelle also has served as a key person in the development of Safe Haven’s mission to Ghana. Michelle has traveled to Ghana with CEO Butler and served as secretary at important meetings with UNAIDS, Ghana AIDS Commission, and various groups working on behalf of PLWA in Ghana. Michelle is a graduate of Elms College School of Social Work and is a licensed Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts. Michelle’s history with Safe Haven and her professional training and experiences as a social worker will be of great asset to her position as a board member for the organization. Michelle is a proud mother of two elementary age children, Ian and Faith and lives in Amherst, MA.

DAVE BUTLER, CEO/Founder, created The Safe Haven Project in 1993. Since its inception, Dave has guided the organization from being a week-long camp experience into a multifaceted, international organization. Through his professional training and experiences as an educational administrator and director with the National Youth Leadership Forum, Youth Futures International has been created. At Safe Haven’s Youth Futures International, high achieving youth can participate in experiential leadership and service programs in countries such as Ghana and Bosnia Herzegovina. Outside of Safe Haven and Youth Futures International efforts, Dave enjoys travelling as much as possible, outdoor activities, training in the martial arts, and relaxing with family and friends. Dave currently resides in Asheville, NC.
