Welcome from the CEO

Welcome from Dave Butler, Founder & CEO

Thank you for visiting the web site of the Safe Haven Project and Youth Futures International for 2012! All of us within the organization are excited for the year ahead and are committed and determined to bring our organization to the highest levels of success possible. There are many opportunities to be of service to our organization as a whole or to any particular program. I encourage you to peruse our web page at your convenience and to feel free to contact any member on the team that may be able to help you.

Over the past 18 years, Safe Haven has grown, evolved, and changed in response to many needs, desires, areas of feedback, or issues out of our control such as the recent recession and difficult economy. As Founder & CEO of the Safe Haven Project, I have called upon all leadership that in 2012 and beyond we will commit to offering only the best of service with the highest levels of professionalism and care possible. As a professional and experienced educational leader, I ensure that all of our programs will offer sound and proven educational methods and standards, while at the same time allowing for creativity and enjoyment. As always, all of our participants will be respected, safe, and have vast opportunities for growth.

There are many wonderful opportunities at Safe Haven this year from our annual ‘Camp Safe Haven’ experiences, to the growth of our Serve & Learn program in Ghana to what I am extremely excited and proud to introduce as ‘Youth Futures International’. In the summer of 2012 we will offer two programs in Ghana and one in Bosnia Herzegovina.

At Youth Futures, we offer an incredible experiential leadership and service program for high school youth to travel to Ghana or Bosnia and provide important and sometimes vital public health education to members of the community. As a Youth Futures International participant, students not only have the opportunity to expand their horizons, but to also increase their skills in public speaking, peer-education, and health and wellness advocacy. Over the past two years we have had students representing twelve different states attend our Ghana program, and this year we are well on our way to registering participants for both Ghana and Bosnia for the summer of 2012!

Whether you are a returning supporter or participant of Safe Haven, or a newcomer to our organization, we are committed to offering you the best of service and professionalism possible, and I welcome you to the organization and look forward to an exciting and successful 2012!
