Camp Safe Haven North Carolina

Camp Safe Haven North Carolina is an annual retreat-style summer camp for children living with and affected by HIV / AIDS. Since its inception in 2008, Camp Safe Haven North Carolina has expanded and been accepted into the local community, resulting in an incredible growth of opportunities that make the camp an unforgettable experience for all involved.

One of the key missions of Camp Safe Haven North Carolina is to provide a stigma-free environment that encourages openness and compassion. Campers participate in many creative projects, often under the direction of local artists, as well as traditional camp activities. As the program has grown, campers are becoming more and more involved with the local community, participating in local events and field trips to places such as the Biltmore Estate.

Camp Safe Haven North Carolina depends on support from local and national donors as well as a dedicated team of volunteers, including camp councilors, nurses, and support staff. These volunteers come from all parts of the country, giving freely of their time and energy to make camp a extraordinary experience.

Camp Safe Haven North Carolina would not be possible without the the contributions of a number of organizations. Please see our community page for more details.
